Entrepreneurial Law Clinic

The Entrepreneurial Law Clinic (ELC) an experiential learning program at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law that provides law students with the opportunity to apply their legal knowledge in a clinical setting for the benefit of the public. The clinic allows students to develop practical legal and interpersonal skills, gain a deeper understanding of professional ethics and responsibility and serve their immediate community.

The ELC is dedicated to expanding access to legal services by providing free legal guidance and support to early-stage entrepreneurs, small businesses, and non-profit organizations in the greater Edmonton area (Treaty 6 territory) who cannot otherwise afford such legal services.

The Entrepreneurial Law Clinic was established in 2022 by four alumni of the Faculty of Law, Hero Laird, Inder Dhiman, Raj Oberoi, and Supreet Singh as the River City Venture Legal Services Clinic.

Public Legal Education

At the ELC, we are committed to public legal education. We host interactive events and workshops that provide valuable legal insights on topics such as business formation, employment, intellectual property, contract essentials, and regulatory compliance. These sessions not only boost your knowledge but also foster a dynamic network of entrepreneurs, businesses, and nonprofits.

The clinic can also be reached out to design and deliver educational sessions on legal topics relevant to its services, which could benefit a community of entrepreneurs and ventures.
