Amendments and Renewals

Amendments

• Any changes to the study require REB approval by submitting an Amendment in ARISE. This includes updating the application form, and/or associated study documents.
• Regularly review co-investigator/study staff listed in your application in ARISE and update, as needed, using the “Change Personnel” button.
• Update the funding source for funded projects, using the “Change Funding” button.

Renewals

Ethics approval must be maintained for the duration of the human participant research activity. The PI/study team must renew their ethics approval through ARISE before it expires. The system sends three reminders. Failure to renew leads to expiration and project deactivation for funded projects.

Initiate renewals early: 60 days before expiration, and at least 2 weeks before the deadline for human participant research.

If your research study has completed, submit a Closing Report to the REB.
