Distinguished Visitors Fund

Purpose: Supports visits by nationally or internationally distinguished scholars, artists, scientists, and professionals who enhance the campus' intellectual environment.

Deadline: May 31 and October 31 each year

Indigenous Engaged Research Grant Program

Purpose: This supplemental grant program is intended to support relationship building between SSHRC researchers and Indigenous communities with whom they are working in developing, undertaking and reporting on research projects.

Deadline: TBD - Program is being revised with anticipated launch in April 2026

Killam Research Fund

Cornerstone Research Seed Grants

Purpose: Cornerstone Research Seed Grants are funded through the Killam Research Fund and are designed to support investigator-driven research projects in the fields of Humanities, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Education, Business, or Law.

Knowledge Mobilization Grants

Purpose: Knowledge Mobilization Grants are funded through the Killam Research Fund and are designed to support events and outreach activities geared toward short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives in the fields of Humanities, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Education, Business, or Law.

Killam Research Fund Submission Deadlines: Intake of applications will normally occur twice each fiscal (Summer and Fall). Due to the program pause, there will be an additional intake in the Winter 2026. Upcoming deadlines are as follows:
