2026 NSERC Scholarships and Fellowships Information Sessions
NSERC is hosting the following information sessions for the doctoral and postdoctoral programs. These sessions will be hosted as live Q&A MS teams meetings and will serve to provide details and guidance to students and postdoctoral researchers planning to apply to NSERC programs. Before attending a session, participants must read the relevant program description and come prepared with their questions. Please attend any of the sessions that best suits your schedule.

Killam Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowships
These are funded from the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Fund for Advanced Studies.

The Killam Award for Excellence in Mentoring recognizes outstanding performance in the area of mentoring summer research students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, visiting research scholars and undergraduate students.
Alberta Innovates Postdoctoral Fellowships Program
The Alberta Innovates Postdoctoral Fellowships (AI PDF) Program is to position postdoctoral scholars for high-impact careers in Alberta’s health research and innovation (R&I) ecosystem. Award recipients may not receive simultaneous support from another Alberta Innovates Trainee program. See general U of A program information.
Additional Postdoctoral Funding
The Grant Notley Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowship is provided by donations from friends of Grant Notley, matched by the Province of Alberta. The travel awards financially support postdoctoral scholars who travel in the interests of disseminating the results of research undertaken at the U of A.
